The historical market town of Bala boasts many activities, and places of interest. Llyn Tegid, or ‘Bala lake’ is the largest natural lake in Wales, which also, according to the legend, is the home of ‘Tegi’ the monster that lives in the deep waters. On the lake you could take part in activities such as sailing or kayaking, or a leisurely ride on the narrow gauge steam railway that runs from Bala to the quiet village of Llanuwchllyn, where you could have a drink and a pub meal at the Eagles Inn.
Cwmtylo is a working hill farm, and you may if you wish join in some of the farming activities, such as lambing in springtime. Shearing in early summer, hay making in summer, stock feeding in winter, and other numerous farming experiences.
BIKING - Here on the farm you are welcomed to bring your mountain bikes and trek along our farm roads, or other scenic nearby paths.
FISHING - Fishing is available by arrangement on our 3 miles of streams and rivers.
QUAD BIKE - Its possible by prior arrangement to hire our Honda Quad bike by the hour, the first 30 minutes would be for instructing and training. £40 per hour.
WALKING - We have numerous paths on the farm for you to take in the natural beauty of the farm, watch the birds and wildlife, or even take a dip under the waterfalls found on the farm. For the adventurous you could hike to the top of the Arenig mountain, which is among the highest in Wales at 2,802 feet.
Leisure centre - Found between the lake and Bala town, well equipped with fun pool. Tourist information centre.
